Check Curtain Fullness Before Buying Panels — Free
Two panels can cover a window yet hang almost flat. Compare their combined flat width with the track width multiplied by the fullness you want, before ordering another pair.
The proof surface
Paint quantity measures a coated area. This checks gathered fabric width across a curtain track, not wall coverage or fabric cutting yield.
Why the flat version breaks
Measuring only the glass
The fabric must serve the whole track, including the parts outside the opening.
Entering one panel from a pair
Both panels contribute to flat width; do not compare a single panel with the full track.
Treating fullness as a cutting plan
Hems, pattern repeats and shrinkage are not included in these finished-width numbers.
How to work the drapery fullness register
Record the usable hanging width including any extension beyond the window. A 150 cm track is the reference even when the glass is only 120 cm wide.
Use finished flat width, not the width after gathering. Two 120 cm panels supply 240 cm; keep headings and manufacturer measurement conventions consistent.
Required flat width is track width × desired fullness. Report max(0, required minus supplied); at ratio 2 the bedroom needs 300 cm and lacks 60 cm. Surplus at another window cannot cancel this shortage.
Review any positive deficit, then confirm the heading style, returns and overlap with the supplier. The ratio is your design choice, not a universal curtain standard.
What the drapery fullness register replaces
| Question | Before | Visible working |
|---|---|---|
| Measuring only the glass | The fabric must serve the whole track, including the parts outside the opening. | Add the flat widths of the panels |
| Entering one panel from a pair | Both panels contribute to flat width; do not compare a single panel with the full track. | Calculate missing width per window |
| Treating fullness as a cutting plan | Hems, pattern repeats and shrinkage are not included in these finished-width numbers. | Check the heading before purchasing |

FIRST-LOAD
Research prototype — checkout unavailable. Input is processed locally and a draft is saved automatically in this browser profile when storage is available. Reset to sample clears that draft; Pro history has its own clear button. A state link encodes your inputs in its URL: share only non-sensitive rows. Browser history, clipboard and anyone receiving the link may retain it. Optional AI use below leaves this device; it is not required.
Finished-width planning only. This does not specify fittings, cord safety, installation strength or fire performance; follow product instructions and keep cords away from children.
Data note: Everything runs in this browser tab on the drapery fullness register: your window | track width cm | total flat panel width cm stays on this device, nothing is uploaded, and the reading is rebuilt only when you press run.
Go deeper: the companion app files the same reading as a bound register page
The article demo above runs without limits. The companion app keeps a local history, exports the rows as CSV, prints the drapery fullness register reading, and holds your drafts on this device — one complete free run; the proposed $4 one-time filing layer is not currently for sale.
The drapery fullness register reading is complete for free. The optional $4 layer adds print, row CSV and the last five local reading summaries; it does not add hidden answers. Checkout is not configured yet; the article demo remains unlimited.

What this is built on
- Method: Required flat width is track width × desired fullness. Report max(0, required minus supplied); at ratio 2 the bedroom needs 300 cm and lacks 60 cm. Surplus at another window cannot cancel this shortage.
- All sample records are invented examples. The app does not fetch measurements, policies, files or personal records.
- Google’s official pricing page, fetched 2026-09-29, lists free-tier access including AI Studio. Optional formatting only; limits and availability can change. Free-tier content may be used to improve products. Never paste private records there.
Before: The fabric must serve the whole track, including the parts outside the opening. After: the drapery fullness register shows the working beside each named row so the reader can change the assumption and inspect the consequence.
Optional AI formatting, not calculation
For this drapery fullness register, use the free AI Studio interface only if available to you, with no paid API key. Manual entry completes the same workflow for free. Supply only fictional or non-sensitive notes. Review its output against the source; never paste unresolved questions into the numeric rows.
Format my non-sensitive notes for a drapery fullness register. Return plain rows only: window | track width cm | total flat panel width cm. Preserve supplied quantities exactly. Do not guess missing values; list questions separately. Do not calculate or add advice. I will check every row before pasting into the local tool.
Accepted schema: window | track width cm | total flat panel width cm. No AI response is executed as code.
