Turn a Group Trip Thread Into a Filed Decisions Receipt — Free

Every group trip has the same failure: the decisions are real but they live in 400 messages, so someone books a flat for five nights while someone else is still pricing a hostel for four. This card takes the conclusions — one per line, in your own words — and files them as a receipt that names what is settled, what is still blank, and what has to happen before the next payment.

The proof surface

Free path: the card computes locally in the browser with no key and no account. Where an AI step helps, any free chat assistant works — Google AI Studio's free tier and Groq's free tier were both no-card and rate-limited when this page was reviewed on 2026-09-13 (limits change; check before you rely on them).

Why the flat version breaks

A shared document is a fighting surface: everyone edits, nobody owns. A chat search returns message order, not decision order. The receipt fixes that by making the decision the unit of record and blanking what nobody has actually settled — a blank line about lodging is harder to argue with than a half-remembered message.

How to run the receipt in four passes

Write the decision, not the argument

One line per decision: dates, budget per person, lodging, transport, deposit. Put the outcome after the pipe and leave the outcome blank if nobody has actually agreed it — a blank line is the whole point of the receipt.

Use the note column for the caveat, not the decision

Anything after a second pipe becomes the note on that line: held until 18 Nov, deposit paid, flight booked separately. Keep the decision itself short enough to quote back in the thread.

Read the blanks before you post it

The card lists required decisions that came back empty in accent wash. Those are the questions that have been asked and not answered; the receipt will not let them look settled.

Re-issue rather than edit

Re-run the card after the next round of messages and post the new receipt. The old one stays useful as a record of what the group believed last week, which is what settles the argument about who agreed to what.

SAMPLE DATA, NOT A VERIFIED CLAIM: Porto · 4–9 Mar 2027 · €640 each · deposit €120 due 2 Dec 2026 · apartment held until 18 Nov. Replace these values with your own source before you rely on anything.

What breaks first

Dumping the whole thread

The card reads lines, not sentiment. Paste the conclusions you extracted, one per line — if you paste 400 messages, the receipt will be 400 lines of nothing decided.

Writing a decision one person made

If only you agreed to it, the note column should say so. The receipt is evidence of consensus, and it is worse than useless if it claims agreement that never happened.

Treating it as a booking confirmation

This records what your group wrote down. It does not hold a flat, a fare or a table, and the deadline it counts down to is only as good as the date you typed into it.

Six people's decisions are already filed, with the deposit date counted down and the unanswered lines pulled into a wash band. Change one line and the receipt re-files against it.
