Count the Hours to Catch Up on Lectures You Missed

A missed lecture is not one hour of catch-up once the notes and the rewatching are counted.

What this guide helps you do

Turn missed lectures, lecture length, playback speed, note time, and days into a catch-up total and a daily figure.

Who this guide is for

Students catching up after missed classes or a disrupted week.

Use the source document or official route that applies to your situation. This guide does not contact another person or verify external information.

Steps

  1. Count the lectures

Count the lectures you missed, not every lecture in the course.

  2. Use the real length

Use the recording length, including the parts you will skip.

  3. Set the playback speed

Use a speed you can follow. A faster speed is not a saving if you rewind.

  4. Add note time

Use the minutes you need to write up each lecture.

  5. Read the daily figure

The App spreads the total across the days you give it.

Worked example

Four 75-minute lectures watched at 1.5 speed take 200 minutes. Notes add 80, so 280 minutes is 56 minutes a day over five days.

  1. Watch time = 4 lectures × 75 minutes ÷ 1.5 speed = 200 minutes
  2. Notes = 4 lectures × 20 minutes = 80 minutes, so the total is 280 minutes
  3. Over 5 days = 280 ÷ 5 = 56 minutes a day

Use your own source and details. The example is not a record about a real person or organization.

Compare two worked cases

Two catch-up plans. Both are examples.

Both cases are examples, not records about a real person. The bars show the same numbers the free App computes.
