Measure How Far a Multi-Factor Rollout Has Got

A security rollout is either a percentage or a wish.

What this guide helps you do

Turn account counts and a weekly enrolment rate into coverage, the remaining accounts, and the weeks left.

Who this guide is for

Small businesses and teams rolling out multi-factor authentication across accounts.

Use the source document or official route that applies to your situation. This guide does not contact another person or verify external information.

Steps

  1. Count the accounts

Count the accounts the rollout covers. Include service accounts you plan to handle separately.

  2. Count the enrolled

Count the accounts with a second factor working today. A scheduled enrolment does not count yet.

  3. Write the weekly rate

Write how many accounts you enrolled last week. Use the real number, not the plan.

  4. Compute the coverage

Divide the enrolled by the total and multiply by 100. That is your coverage percentage.

  5. Divide the remainder

Subtract the enrolled from the total and divide by the weekly rate. Round up for the weeks left.

Worked example

Of 250 accounts, 180 are enrolled at 20 a week. That is 72.0 percent coverage, 70 accounts left, and 4 weeks to finish.

Use your own source and details. The example is not a record about a real person or organization.
