Check Whether You Actually Have Time To Revise

A revision plan fails on hours, not effort. This adds up the hours each topic genuinely needs, works out how many hours you actually have after subtracting the days you won't study, and prints the difference per day. The workflow

  1. Estimate hours by topic, not by subject

    'Biology' is not estimable; 'cell signalling, 4 hours' is. Breaking a subject into topics is what makes the total honest, and it usually reveals that one or two topics dominate the whole budget.

  2. Subtract the days you won't study

    Work shifts, family commitments, and the days you know you won't manage. Most people overstate their available days by a third, and the worksheet is only as useful as this subtraction.

  3. Use a daily capacity you can sustain

    Four focused hours beats eight planned hours that collapse by day three. Enter the number you'd defend on your worst day, not your best — the deficit it produces is the real one.

  4. Cut topics on purpose if there's a deficit

    When the hours don't fit, deciding which topics to drop is a strategy; discovering it during the exam isn't. Cut the lowest-yield topics deliberately and revise the rest properly rather than skimming all of them badly.

What breaks this

Estimating by subject rather than topic produces a total nobody can act on. Counting every day as available overstates capacity by a third or more. Setting daily capacity at your best day makes the plan collapse on the third.
