Turn a Lecture Transcript Into a 3-Day Study Plan
A transcript is the raw material of a lecture, not a study plan — and past-you saved it precisely so you wouldn't have to re-watch. This cuts it into study chunks of a few minutes each, pulls the key terms and numbers out of every chunk, and drops them onto a three-day review grid. Local only; the transcript never leaves your tab.

- A 3-day grid: chunks today, recall tomorrow, recap day 3
- dated
What you pay otherwise
| Route | What you get | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Study-skills course | Generic note-taking advice, no plan from your material | $50+ |
| Re-watching the video | Real time spent re-finding what you already have | hours |
| Highlighting the whole wall | Everything looks important, nothing is scheduled | false confidence |
| This page | The transcript cut, labelled, and scheduled | $0 |
The workflow
Paste the transcript, not the link
Copy the caption or transcript text straight in. The tool handles timestamps and speaker labels — it strips them and works with the words. Long transcript? Paste it in sections; each paste is its own plan.
Skim the key-term pull before you read
Each chunk lists its capitalised words and numbers. Reading those first primes you to recognise them in the text — the pull is a map, not the destination.
Do today's chunks as retrieval, not reading
After each chunk, answer its self-check prompt from memory before scrolling on. The prompt is generated from the chunk's own terms, so it's specific to this lecture.
Come back on day 2 and day 3
Day 2 is pure recall of the key terms; day 3 is the recap pass over the chunks you flagged. Three short passes beat one long one, and the grid keeps you honest about which you've done.
Worked example
Sample: a 900-word transcript on a 3-day grid Chunks 6 (about 150 words each) Key terms ATP, glycolysis, mitochondria, Krebs, NADH Day 1 chunks 1–3, self-check after each Day 2 recall the key terms cold Day 3 recap chunks 4–6, re-check the flagged ones Uploaded nothing — planned in the tab
Numbers above are sample data produced by the tool's own pre-loaded example, run in the browser — not averages or measured benchmarks.
What breaks this
Pasting the video link does nothing — the tool works on text, so paste the transcript itself. One giant paste with no sentence breaks still chunks fine, but a 10,000-word wall becomes a 60-chunk plan; paste per lecture. Skipping the recall pass (day 2) is where the plan silently becomes re-reading — that pass is the whole trick.
Try it now
A short cell-biology transcript is loaded and cut into chunks. Paste your own lecture text and watch it re-plan.

The plan is free forever. The $4 one-time tier adds:
- Printable timetable — the 3-day grid on one sheet — estimate: ~12 min saved versus copying the plan into a planner by hand.
- Saved plans shelf — keep up to 20 transcripts' plans in this browser — estimate: ~10 min saved per lecture of re-pasting.
- Chunk check-off — mark chunks done as you go — estimate: ~5 min saved per session of remembering where you left off.
