Compare a Utility Rate Notice with the Rate on Your Bill
A changed unit rate is easy to miss when a new notice and last month's bill use different units or billing periods.
Lay out user-entered old and new utility rates, fixed charges, and a chosen usage scenario; show the arithmetic difference while keeping taxes, tiers, and provider terms visible as exclusions.
What changes the result: your provider's published unit rates, fixed charges, usage, and comparison period.
Privacy: Calculations run in this browser tab. This tool has no input-upload, account, or AI endpoint. The site may send a page-view signal to Cloudflare; this tool does not add form entries to that signal. A draft is stored only if you choose “Save draft on this device”; that browser storage is not encrypted. Avoid identifiers or sensitive details, and delete saved drafts when finished.
Your entries
The starting rows below are fictional examples. Edit them, replace them with non-sensitive labels and values, or load the sample again. The result is not advice or a source verification.
Amount fields use the same units you enter; the app does not choose a currency. Dates are the ones you provide. Up to 100 rows per run.

What the calculation does
For ordinary options, display ranges on the values the user entered without ranking the options. For the utility-rate version, calculate old rate times usage plus old fixed charge, and repeat with the new inputs. The estimate excludes any charge the user did not enter.
Question to keep open: Should a household compare unit price alone or compare the whole bill under a realistic usage scenario?
Boundary: This is a user-entered estimate, not a tariff lookup or bill forecast. Rate structures, taxes, tiers, and fees vary; use the current utility notice and bill, and verify the provider's effective date.
Copy includes the headline, aggregate metrics, and boundary—not the row-by-row input. The CSV contains entries you choose to download. Review it before sharing.
